Alexander is a designer working across theatre, opera and ballet.
His practice is centred on the relationship between space, storytelling and audience experience.
Beginning with the questions at the heart of a production, he develops designs that shape how a story is understood as much as how it is seen, creating worlds that feel immediate, alive and emotionally resonant.
He is drawn to psychologically truthful narratives realised through non-naturalistic forms,
and to the ways architecture, movement and transformation can become active tools for storytelling. Seeing design as an integral part of the creative process, he works collaboratively to develop visual languages that deepen a production’s dramaturgy and support its emotional and thematic journey.

His work often explores visual metaphor, atmosphere, and the relationship between performers, space
and audience. Through set, costume and scenographic design, he creates environments that support performance while inviting audiences to engage with a work in personal and unexpected ways.

His collaborative work has been seen at venues including the Royal Opera House, The Old Vic and the Royal Court Theatre.
Alexander trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Kingston University London. He has also worked as a visiting lecturer on Theatre Practice courses, mentoring emerging designers. He has collaborated with directors and designers including Antony McDonald, Richard Jones, Tamara Rojo and Terry Gilliam, among others. His work has been seen at venues including the Royal Court Theatre, Royal Opera House, The Old Vic, Theatre Royal Bath and English National Ballet, and internationally with the Canadian Opera Company, Park Avenue Armory (New York) and the Bregenz Festival (Austria). His contributions to Katya Kabanova and Alcina at the Royal Opera House formed part of Olivier Award–winning productions. Alongside his design practice, Alexander works as a scenic and costume graphic artist. Recent credits include Ghosts (Lyric Hammersmith Theatre), Albert Herring (English National Opera), Hansel & Gretel (Royal Opera House), The Hills of California (Harold Pinter Theatre/Broadway), The Constituent (The Old Vic), and As You Like It (Soho Place), among others.
